Today is Mother's Day... so, just like the majority of bloggers today (I expect), I tribute this to my Mom.
My Mom, Karla Marie Nelson Spackman, was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She met my dad through a blind date set up by her cousin. They were married on August 14, 1980. Together, they have raised 5 of (in my opinion) the coolest people currently walking this earth. :)
Last weekend, in honor of Mother's Day, Melanie and I treated our mom's to a weekend in San Franciso. We had a blast and we absolutely want to go on another trip with them again soon.
My mom has taught me, by example, the most important life lessons: respect, humility, meekness, gratitude, unconditional love, forgiveness, support, humor, simpleness, faith, endurance, and the list goes on and on.
It has been fun, over the past several years, to become friends with my mom. To talk to her as an adult. To get to know her as a person. She truly is an amazing woman. I can't express how much I love and admire her.
